Walldog Murals

An Outdoor Art Extravaganza

Worldwide influence shines on the gorgeous brickwork around Downtown Jacksonville, Illinois. Artists from as far as Ireland and Australia as well as those from the good ole’ USA have left their mark through the magnificent Walldog Murals created during the summer of 2006 and then again in 2019. Painted and installed during two weeklong events — the Jacksonville Walldog Extravaganza (2006) and Wham! Bam! Mural Jam (2019) — detail the history of Jacksonville, from murals commemorating Abraham Lincoln’s campaign stop and his fierce anti-slavery speech in the Courthouse Park to those reminiscent of the mid-century advertising that drips with Americana.
