September 25 is Dolly Day, and believe it or not, Jacksonville has a pretty fun connection to Dolly Parton.
See that Ferris wheel on my shirt? Eli Bridge Company, right here in Jacksonville, has been building Big Eli Wheels for more than a century, and their wheels have traveled far beyond our city, including all the way to Dollywood in Tennessee.
Eli Bridge’s first Big Eli Wheel debuted right here in Jacksonville in 1900, and the company still manufactures Ferris wheels and its famous Scrambler right here today.
So for Dolly Day, we want to see just how far a little piece of Jacksonville has traveled. 🎡
