Birdie here! 🐾

In honor of National Dog Day, I decided there was really only one appropriate way to celebrate: spend the day exploring Jacksonville. And I have a few rules when it comes to a day out ➡️ mainly, always start with a pup cup and end with a pup cup. ☕️🐶

So naturally, my first stop was Soap Co. Coffee House for a pup cup on the patio. From there, I took a little walk downtown, stopped for a photo at the Jacksonville Selfie Station and popped into 37 South to say hi to Julie and see if she had any fall candles in stock. Good news: she did. 🍂

By then I’d worked up an appetite, so I wandered over to Mulligan’s for lunch. My humans ordered the Reuben and Irish nachos. I ordered water and then helped myself to some of the Reuben. I think that’s called sharing.

After lunch, it was time to stretch my legs at the dog park. A few laps, some playtime with my humans and a drink from the water fountain.

All that exercise deserved a reward, so there was only one thing left to do: head to Charlie’s for one more pup cup. Ice cream this time. 🍦

🏍️🚙 The R.E.D. Ride is rolling into Jacksonville this Saturday, and the final stop comes with a FREE concert! 🎶

The 7th Annual R.E.D. Ride of Central Illinois kicks off Saturday morning in Pleasant Plains, making its way through Central Illinois before ending right here in Jacksonville at Twisted Tree Music Hall.

And you don’t have to participate in the ride to come out for the final stop! Brandy Kristin Band takes the stage from 7–10 PM, and the show is FREE + open to the public. 🙌

The R.E.D. Ride of Central Illinois raises funds to send care packages filled with essentials and a few comforts from home to deployed service members overseas. ❤️
