The Safe Sitter class gives preteens and teens ages 11–15 the confidence and skills to be effective, safe babysitters.

Cost is $35 and includes a workbook and lunch. Space is limited so register early.

Training will cover lifesaving skills for choking. During class, students will use manikins for skill work. There will also be role playing, games and activities as students learn how to handle everyday situations that could present a risk to children’s safety, including what to do when severe weather occurs.

A demonstration for parents will be held at 2:15 p.m. where students will share some of the skills they’ve learned in class.

Participants can register for one of two Safe Sitter classes being offered at JMH this summer — Wednesday, June 3, or Wednesday, July 1, from 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM with registration at 8:30 AM.
