Honoring African American Women in the Military

February 22 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Please join us at the JAAHM 859 Grove St Jacksonville Il. Saturday February 22nd 1 to 4pm to celebrate African American Women in the Military. We will feature exhibits on individuals and black female units we will provide a showing of the movie Six Triple Eight.

Discover the story of those that served throughout the wars, their contributions, challenges, racist treatment and their courage. Their willingness and determination to prove themselves capable when they were always seen as part of a larger group that America had always portrayed as incapable even though throughout war after war their achievements stood as a testament to their valor and wishes to serve their country.

Movie will start at 1:30pm. If you are a female veteran, please join us and hopefully meet other females who served as well!

Food and refreshments provided.
