The Art Association of Jacksonville is pleased to present Lindsay C. Jones to The David Strawn Art Gallery April 5-27. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, April 5th from 6-8 p.m. The opening reception and gallery hours are free and open to the public.
Lindsay Jones grew up in an art studio at her grandmother’s house. She enjoyed creating art from a very young age. In college, she earned a degree in Graphic Design/Fine Arts at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
Early in her art career, Jones participated in the Fort Worth Art Walk. In 2016, she started learning how to paint with watercolors and she fell in love with the medium. Soon afterwards, she started a business selling her art and called it “Drenched in Peace.”
She soon began popping up at farmers markets, a few art walks, and festivals while she was living in Texas.
Jones had a huge life change in 2019 when she moved to Illinois. By May of 2021, she started focusing on improving her painting skills and pursued a professional art career.
Currently Jones has been in numerous art shows around the Midwest and she had the honor of being the chosen artist for the Springfield Old Capitol Art Fair community mural. Her work has also been displayed at the Illinois State Museum.
Jones lives in Springfield, Illinois with her husband and four children.
Gallery hours April 6-27: Sundays 1-3 p.m., Tuesday – Saturday 4-6 p.m. The David Strawn Art Gallery will be closed on Saturday, April 26th for the annual Beaux Arts Ball.
