Bring your lawn chairs to East Cemetery for the Civil War Veterans Headstone Dedication Service on Aug 1 at 3:00 PM.

They will dedicate six new military headstones to former members of the Richard Yates Grand Army of the Republic Post 687, Jacksonville. These men were part of the 180,000 who joined the United States Colored Troops during the Civil War.

This free event is sponsored by the Morgan County Historical Society and Amvets.
