America 250 Program: “How We Remember”
The Illinois School for the Deaf (ISD) hosts a public program of the America & Illinois 250 series, “History Belongs to All of Us.” The program is facilitated by the Illinois State Historical Society (ISHS) with funding from Illinois Humanities, the organization that created the curriculum for the series. The program will also be interpreted by Amy Bordean.
Offered on Thursday, May 7, 6:30 PM at the Gathering Room in the ISD Administration building, 125 S. Webster Avenue in Jacksonville, this program will focus on “How We Remember,” presented by Dr. Brian Mitchell. Dr. Mitchell is a historian and author, serving as facilitator for the series. This discussion program revolves around how Illinois has commemorated history through celebrations, commemorations, and monuments.
