African American History Museum Tours
The Jacksonville African American History Museum is located in the historic Underground Railroad site, the Asa Talcott home. The museum features very interesting local and National African American History from slavery to present times. The museum is setup like a timeline and offers information on slavery, the local and National Underground Railroad history and Civil Rights along with African American inventors and many other parts of African American history to include Dr. Alonzo Kenniebrew who was the first African American in the United States to own and operate his own hospital that was located in Jacksonville and who at one time was personal physician to Booker T. Washington.
Tours beginning May 9th, every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
