JANUARY
BRIDAL EXPO
This annual event sponsored by Jacksonville Main Street showcases the newest bridal fashions, information on wedding planning, and experts to assist with all of your wedding questions. In addition, the expo features ideal wedding cakes, florists, photographers, reception sites and door prizes for all to enjoy!

EAGLES ON THE ILLINOIS RIVER
This event is great for the whole family and provides a wonderful opportunity to view bald eagles at one of Illinois’ premier eagle-watching areas, the Illinois River at Meredosia.
Location: Meredosia, along the Illinois River, Guided tour fee

APRIL
BEAUX ARTS BALL
Event features the crowning of the Beaux Arts Ball Queen and is the major fundraiser for the Art Association of Jacksonville.  Money raised helps to support monthly art shows and gallery upkeep.

ROTARY BASS TOURNAMENT
This event offers nice cash prizes for the best catches; the Buddy tournament brings anglers from throughout the area.  The tournament is held at Lake Jacksonville and brought to you by the local Rotary Club.

SPRING FLEA & CRAFT MARKET

JACKSONVILLE STREET ROD REUNION/N.S.R.A. APPRECIATION & SAFETY DAY
Games, prizes and free safety inspections.

JUNE
HEART OF JACKSONVILLE PLAZA AUTO SHOW
Antique and classic automobiles from a three-state area compete for 50 trophies. Free event

GENERAL GRIERSON DAYS & HISTORIC CELEBRATION
3rd Weekend in June. Largest mounted Civil War re-enactment in the Midwest.  Step back in time and experience the life of a Civil War soldier. Visit the Confederate and Union camps.  Watch the soldiers drill and prepare for battle, prepare meals and practice medicine. Parades, full period dress grand ball, exhibits, food and of course major battle re-enactments.

PEPSI PASSAVANT TEAM REHAB VARSITY BASKETBALL SHOOTOUT
Features 100+ teams from a multi-state area competing in 300+ games.  The event has steadily grown over the years, becoming the largest basketball tournament in the state of Illinois.

JULY
4TH OF JULY PARADE & CELEBRATION
Celebration at Community Park. Parade through historic downtown Jacksonville – fireworks display begins at dusk at Nichols Park. Free event jacksonvilleil4th.com

MORGAN COUNTY FAIR
Complete with a carnival, food, livestock judging, and grandstand entertainment, the Morgan County Agricultural Fair has something for everyone. Location: Morgan County Fairgrounds, Admission fee themorgancountyfair.com

CRAZY HORSE BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL
A great opportunity to enjoy national, regional and local touring bands in a family, friendly atmosphere.  Friday and Saturday performances are held rain or shine.  Event concludes Sunday with a morning gospel show.  Hiking, fishing, canoeing, food concession and general store available.

RIVER COUNTRY QUILT SHOW
Quilters throughout the area exhibit an impressive number of quilts, wall-hangings, antique quilts and much more. Location: Jacksonville High School, Admission fee

ROBBIE MCEVERS MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
Free tournament for junior golfers, attracts over 350 players each year.

DAR ANNUAL ICE CREAM SOCIAL
Held on the lawn of the historic Governor Joseph Duncan  Mansion, enjoy delicious desserts and big band entertainment. Location: 4 Duncan Place, Duncan Park, Admission fee

DANCING WITH THE STARS
Sponsored by the Jacksonville Pilot Club.

SEPTEMBER
PRAIRIELAND CHAUTAUQUA

Modeled after traditional Chautauquas, and featuring musical shows, historical storytellers, catered communal suppers, and evenings with experienced re-enactors representing famous Americans.  Four days of historic re-enactments, Labor Day weekend.
Location: Community Park – under the big tent, Free event

CRUISE NITE & CAR SHOW
One of the largest Cruise events in Illinois.  Come to the cruise on Saturday night and stay for the show on Sunday.  This event brings in classic and antique autos for a weekend of fun for the whole family. Fourth weekend in September.

PRAIRIE LAND HERITAGE MUSEUM STEAM SHOW & FALL FESTIVAL DAYS
See horse-powered equipment, antique tractors, gas & steam engines, demonstrations on baling, blacksmithing and more.  Steam train rides, very large flea market and food.  Last full weekend in September.

PILOT CLUB HOLIDAY HOME WALK & TEA
Visit beautifully decorated homes. The decorations by the homeowners result in a pleasant afternoon that inspires the holiday spirit.  Sponsored by the International Pilot Club of Jacksonville.
